Our founder, Tim is a 15 year veteran of the home inspection industry and loves getting the chance to share his experience and knowledge. This course is perfect for newer agents! We go back to the basics to walk through the inspection process as well as how you can prepare and educate your client in order to have a smooth and positive home inspection experience. We will talk about how home inspectors and agents can work together to give the client confidence as they move through the home buying process.

Radon & The Real Estate Transaction
Radon gas is a major health hazard for buildings throughout Minnesota. More than two out of every five homes in MN have radon levels that pose a significant health risk. Radon testing is becoming more and more prevalent in real estate transactions, which provides another opportunity for issues to arise that could kill the deal. Real estate agents that are better informed on the potential hazards associated with radon as well as mitigation techniques will be able to better guide their clients through this process.

One of the house’s most integral operating systems is the heating system. As a result, potential buyers may have questions or concerns about the condition of a home’s heating system. Real estate agents will be able to serve as advocates for their clients during the home buying process as a result of participating in this course.

We will go over the most common types of defects that you and your client could see in homes. These issues range from incredibly serious to laughable headscratchers. Many issues identified during the home inspection, if left untreated, can lead to significant costly repairs later, or even unsafe and hazardous living conditions. You will learn about how these common defects affect you and your clients, and how to communicate effectively regarding them.

This class is a fun, approachable overview of what “going green” can look like for the average homeowner. We will go over practical steps for increasing energy efficiency in the home as well as a peek at some newer ideas and technology.

Mold: What you Need to Know & How to Read Air Sampling Reports
This class is a down to earth overview what mold is, how it affects the home and homebuyer, and how to communicate with your client about it. We will go over the typical kinds of mold found in the home, and ways to reduce and mitigate organic growth.

Understanding Newer Homes
Homes in the 10-15 year age range are often perceived as new by sellers and buyers, but many systems and appliances are reaching the end of their expected life. Educating clients on what is typically happening in a home this age can eliminate drama and stress. We will go over common conditions and problems for homes this age that can cause tension in the transaction when they feel like a surprise.
